This week the word is travolgere. It appeared in four different articles on the front cover of a daily paper.
travolgere v.tr
to carry away, to overwhelm, to run over
- Travolge i turisti: un morto e 27 feriti – tourists knocked down: one dead 27 injured.
- L’Italia è di nuovo travolta dal maltempo – Italy is again engulfed by bad weather.
- Milan travolto: 4–2 – AC Milan beaten 4–2.
- Travolta dal tram, non ce l’ha fatta – Run over by a tram, she hasn’t pulled through.
