Take a Lucca
Written by admin on 7 January, 2009 – 6:34 pm -
Please take a ‘lucca’ at a new addition to the website. It is entitled Experience and will include photos and information on towns and regions I have personally visited in the Bel Paese. It is intended to give a real feel to a place as opposed to that of a guidebook.
For each entry I am currently working on a PDF document which can be downloaded, printed and taken with you if you visit.
The first Experience in a hopefully long list is Lucca in Tuscany which I visited over the New Year. At the moment there are only a few photos online but more will follow soon so keep checking.
It would be nice to hear other experiences of this delightful città. Please fee free to leave a comment if you have ever visited.

Hi Mike, “… only a few photos online…”, yuk, where ?
I have tons of slades taken in Italian towns, but they’d need a good scan and Mac-compatible scans for films&dias are extremely expensive, alas !

@G@ttoGiallo - Just click the main menu ‘Experience’ and then in the Lucca section I have added a link to enter. Or you can click the photo or Lucca title too. Otherwise just click the word Lucca in the third paragraph above.
Hope you like the photos. Pity about all yours being slides that need scanning. However, you will have good knowledge of these towns at least.

Hi Mike, Love you “special” about Lucca. You took some really nice shots. Do you live in that area? It is so beautiful. Take care. Ciao. A.

@Antonella - thanks for the comments about Lucca. I don’t live there or even near (I’m in Piedmont) – it was my first visit. Beautiful place though. I highly recommend it if you haven’t been.

The write up on Puccini was very interesting.
I think Nagasaki have adopted him as their favourite son as there is a beautiful statue of him in Glover Gardens.

Wow, you got the Buca S. Antonio and you said nothing !
I remember this old oval place I couln’t stop shooting from different points of view.
Your shop windows are nice too.
Where do you live in Piedmont ? I’m from Biella.

@G@ttoGiallo – I only discovered the Buca S. Antonio at the end of my stay (even though it is quite central!). Next time I visit I will try it, looks great.
I am in Turin, which is why I follow Fabrizio’s blog. He does a great job promoting the city.
Once I went to Biella. It is ‘bella’.
