Gianduja talks about his Piedmontese chocolate, the Gianduiotto
Turin, the chocolate capital of Italy, is now hosting its annual festival CioccolaTò. Many famous chocolatiers will be exhibiting their products in Piazza Vittorio Veneto, among them such famous names as Guido Gobino, LINDT, Peyrano, Avidano and Caffarel. To allow people to sample the different chocolates there is Chocopass, a carnet costing €12 which contains 22 tastings and is valid for 3 days.

The feast lasts until 15 March. To find out more and discover the special events visit cioccola-to.com. Also check out an interesting article by Anjeeta Nayar at venere.com.

Special 'Bugie' for the occasion (Caffè Ghigo)
If you can’t come to CioccolaTò you should still visit Turin. Its delights can be sampled all year round.

Oh, boy! I want the Chocopass!!! Send chocolate, Mike!
If you want, I can buy a haggie (that I don’t eat) and send it to you in exchange! LOL!

Which is more healthy, 3 days of chocolate tasting or 5 minutes on a “deep fried mars bar”? I think I would go for the Chocopass every time. A pity the exhibition is on in Lent, or do Italians not give up their little treats and do “sack cloth and ashes” indtead?

Is it Benigni on the first pic ?
He will be soon on French TV featuring Dante, and he’s good at that.

@Zeno – would be nice to set up a chocolate/ haggis exchange! Or maybe we could create a chocolate haggis.
@MD - Food is the main religion for most Italians.
@GattoGiallo – it certainly does look like Benigni. Maybe the crisis has got to him too and he needs all the extra work he can get!
